Lido di Puncia is one of Bellano’s two monitored bathing spots on the eastern shore of Lake Como: unlike the nearby Spiaggia di Oro, it regularly passes health checks season after season.
Bellano, a town at the mouth of the Pioverna torrent that also lends its name to its own hamlet of Oro, is best known for its spectacular Orrido di Bellano — a gorge carved by the waters over more than fifteen thousand years — but it also offers this bathing spot on the lake, popular with those looking for a quiet swim away from the crowds of Lake Como’s busier towns. Periodic sampling by the ATS Brianza health authority consistently confirms the suitability of its waters for bathing, making it a safe choice for families and swimmers.

Close by is also Lido di Bellano, a family-run facility with a panoramic pool, restaurant and sun terrace, for those who prefer a more equipped experience than the free beach. After a swim, it’s worth heading back up to Bellano’s historic centre to visit the Orrido and the characteristic ponte Nuovo, or to stop and admire the Chiesa dei Santi Nazaro e Celso, the town’s patron saints.
