Attached to one of the historic campsites in Dervio, Spiaggia Campeggio Europa is a reference point on the town’s lakefront for sailing sports enthusiasts and for those walking the famous Sentiero del Viandante.
Dervio, a village on the eastern shore of Lake Como known as one of the best spots on the lake for sailing, kitesurfing and windsurfing, hosts this beach at Camping Europa with direct access to the water, right on the town’s lakefront.
The campsite
The facility offers pitches for tents and campers — some with a direct lake view — as well as equipped bungalows with a kitchen, double bedroom, small bedroom and covered terrace. Access is also designed for people with disabilities, and pets are allowed with some restrictions.
Getting there
It can be reached by car along the SS36, Dervio exit, or by train to the town’s station, about a quarter of an hour on foot from the campsite: from there you can also comfortably reach Varenna and Bellagio if you want to explore the rest of the lake.
Practical information
- The beach is also open to those not staying at the campsite, for a swim or a stop at the bar.
- Water quality in this stretch has generally been found suitable for bathing in the most recent checks by local health authorities.
- Dervio is one of the stops on the Sentiero del Viandante (Varenna–Bellano–Dervio), the ancient path that runs along the entire eastern shore of Lake Como.
