North of the historic centre of Dervio, reachable on foot from the square in front of the Chiesa Prepositurale along the lakeside promenade, Spiaggia della Foppa is one of the town’s most popular swimming spots. Sheltered from southern winds and shaded by old trees, it’s one of the quietest corners of Dervio: a gravel-and-pebble shoreline that slopes gently into the water, dotted with benches in the shade along the whole promenade — ideal for a relaxed swim away from the crowds of the more central lidos.
Bau Bau Beach, the dog beach
A little further on, in the promenade’s second cove, is “Bau Bau Beach”, one of the first Italian beaches designed for dogs on Lake Como: four-legged visitors get priority here, though the area remains usable by people too.

- Bars and cafés in Dervio’s historic centre are just a short walk away for refreshments after a swim.
- It can be reached on foot from the town centre, by train from Dervio station on the Lecco–Colico–Sondrio line, or by car along the SS36.
