Villa Rosa is one of the Cadenabbia residences where Konrad Adenauer, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, stayed before finally settling at the nearby Villa La Collina.
The villa is part of the rich fabric of historic residences that characterises Cadenabbia di Griante, a lakefront hamlet that, from the second half of the nineteenth century, already attracted English and German travellers in search of quiet and breathtaking views.
It was at Villa Rosa, together with the nearby Villa Arminio, that Adenauer spent his first holidays in Cadenabbia, before settling permanently at the nearby Villa La Collina from the summer of 1959.
