The Lido di Villa Olmo is the large lakefront bathing facility that occupies the lakeside strip of the nineteenth-century park of Villa Olmo, in Como: it should not be confused with the villa itself, the neoclassical masterpiece that gives the park its name and overlooks the lakefront promenade towards Cernobbio — this page is about the lido, one of the most complete in the city.
Facilities
A strip of natural beach runs alongside two swimming pools, one of which is designed specifically for children, while shaded areas, sun loungers and umbrellas make it possible to spend the whole day here. A bar, an on-site restaurant and even a jacuzzi round out the offering. It is no surprise that this setting, helped by the beauty of the century-old park surrounding it, has repeatedly been chosen as a venue for events, fashion shows, advertising shoots and nautical events.
Getting there
The lido is easily reached by urban bus, or on foot along the lakefront promenade for those arriving by train in Como from Milan. From here it is also an easy walk to the other lido in the city, the Lido di Villa Geno, on the opposite side of the bay.
