Percorso Segantini

Triangolo Lariano

Caglio →

In Caglio, a village in the Como part of Brianza, the Percorso Segantini (Segantini Trail) is a permanent open-air exhibition: large reproductions of some of Giovanni Segantini’s masterpieces placed at the points in the village most closely tied to the painter.

The route was created in 2008 by the Comune of Caglio together with Pro Caglio, on the 150th anniversary of the artist’s birth.

What to see

The reproductions are placed at evocative points in the village, starting from the house where Segantini lived from 1885 to 1886, the year he painted “Alla stanga”. The masterpiece was painted in the meadows of Santa Valeria, and its reproduction stands outside the built-up area, at a viewpoint overlooking the rural landscape the painter chose as the backdrop for the work.
