Rifugio Dalco stands at 1,000 metres in the Dalco locality, in the municipality of Montemezzo, surrounded by centuries-old chestnut woods with views over the lake and the Orobie Alps. It is reached via a short detour from the main route of Stage 4 of the Via dei Monti Lariani, along trail number 4.
What to see and facilities
The hut has a shower, hot water, 220V power and GSM coverage, with a menu that includes vegetarian options; it also has two independent holiday apartments. It is a starting point for the Alta Via dei Monti Lariani, and nearby there are paragliding take-off sites and mountain-bike routes.
Getting there
Trail number 4 connects the hut to several starting points: from Montemezzo in about an hour (600 m of ascent), from Livo in about three hours (500 m of ascent), and from San Bartolomeo in an hour and a half (200 m of ascent); from Gera Lario it can also be reached by paved road in an hour and a half (800 m of ascent).
