Rifugio Martina stands at 1,280 metres on the northern side of Monte San Primo, in the municipality of Bellagio, at the Alpe dei Picett.
History
The hut began as the Ticozzi family’s summer dwelling, used as a base for alpine activities — haymaking, cheese-making and livestock grazing. In 1928, Eligio Ticozzi turned the family hut into a refreshment stop for hikers: since then, Rifugio Martina, at the Alpe dei Picett, has been run without interruption by the Ticozzi family, today by the Ticozzi brothers.
What to see and services
The hut is known for polenta uncia, a traditional dish made of polenta, local cheese, melted butter and browned garlic. It offers 15 beds, wheelchair access, hot water and showers.

Rifugio Martina lies along the hiking loop described in the Monte San Primo loop from Piano Rancio itinerary, on the descent from the summit towards Piano Rancio.
