Open since 1958, the beach at Camping Miralago is one of the most historic and family-run in the Alto Lario. It sits on Via Statale, in the Valle Albano, in Dongo, on the western shore of the upper Lake Como, and for almost seventy years has offered a quiet, well-kept stretch of shoreline with direct access for boats, motorboats and windsurfing.

The family atmosphere of the management is felt in the communal spaces too: a bar with a lake-view terrace, a large shaded car park and a laundry service for those staying longer. The site also welcomes visitors who are not staying at the campsite, with access to the shore and to the bar open to the public, restrooms and showers with hot water, and dedicated access for people with disabilities.

A cycling and pedestrian path starting from the beach connects Dongo to Gravedona ed Uniti, a good chance to explore this stretch of the Alto Lario by bike after a swim. Dongo is also worth visiting for its recent history: it was here, on 27 April 1945, that Benito Mussolini was recognised and captured by partisans, an episode now told at the Museo della Fine della Guerra (Museum of the End of the War), housed in the Palazzo Manzi in the town centre.
