Also known as Lido Parco di Chiesa Rotta, the Lido di Abbadia Lariana is a grassy beach at the northern end of the Abbadia Lariana lakefront promenade, along Via Lungo Lago: an ideal choice for a relaxing family day out on the Lecco branch of Lake Como.

The lawn slopes gently down to the water, is shaded by trees and equipped with play areas for children — one of the go-to spots for anyone looking for a comfortable, welcoming beach along the lake’s eastern shore. On site there is a bar, changing cabins and sunbeds for hire, so you can plan a whole day out without having to bring anything from home. Nearby there are car parks and the village’s railway station, just a few minutes on foot.

The atmosphere is typical of the small lakeside lidos of the Lario: quiet, family-friendly, with views of the Grigne peaks reflected in the water. This is also the starting point of the famous Sentiero del Viandante, the ancient path that runs for 45 kilometres along the lake’s eastern shore as far as Piantedo — a further reason, after a swim, to stretch your legs on foot through woods and breathtaking views. Also worth a visit nearby is the Civico Museo Setificio Monti, which tells the story of silk throwing, an industry that shaped the economy of this stretch of the Lario since the sixteenth century.
