Above the old centre of Pusiano, on the spot where the village originally stood, the Santuario della Madonna della Neve is a small 16th-century chapel set in quiet woods, with one of the widest views over the lake and the Brianza region on the whole itinerary.
History
The sanctuary dates back to the 16th century. It is reached along the picturesque Sentiero delle Cappelle dei Misteri del Rosario, which branches off from the park of Palazzo Carpani-Beauharnais, in the centre of Pusiano.
What to see
From the sanctuary the view opens onto the lake, the Brianza countryside and, on clear days, Milan in the distance. It is one of the easiest and most scenic detours along the lake loop.
Getting there
The sanctuary is about a 20-minute walk from the centre of Pusiano, along the Sentiero delle Cappelle dei Misteri del Rosario. It is one of the stops on the Anello del Lago di Pusiano itinerary.
