Palazzo Carpani-Beauharnais

Villa Ambra

Also known as Villa Gadda, this was the childhood home of writer Carlo Emilio Gadda in Longone al Segrino, who in his novels set the nearby lake under the poetic name "See grün". Today it is a residential building.

Villa Bossi Porro Lambertenghi

A nineteenth-century villa in Tavernerio that in the early 1950s took in flood refugees from the Polesine. Today it houses Villa Santa Maria, a care centre for children with autism and other psychiatric conditions.

Villa Ferrario

A villa enclosed by a boundary wall of probable medieval origin, today home to the Municipality of Castelmarte, on via Roma in the heart of the village.

Villa Greppi

A neo-rococo residence rebuilt in the late nineteenth century to a design by Emilio Alemagna, once home to the patron Antonio Greppi, protector of Metastasio and Goldoni.

Villa Meda

A late-18th-century Neoclassical villa in the heart of Canzo, designed by Simone Cantoni, with coffered ceilings frescoed and signed in 1701-1702 by Luca Roscio. Today it houses Canzo's Civic Library.

Villa Odescalchi

A sixteenth-century residence known today as Villa Santa Chiara, once owned by the Odescalchi family, with a large English garden; now a care home.
